I just watched the (fantastic) 80s film Starman at the weekend which refers to the Voyager probe and the disc. One very interesting thing it mentioned in passing was that the disc also included a message of peace to aliens from the then chairman of the UN. Our intergalactic ambassador was Kurt Waldheim who later turned out to have been a nazi. Oh well…
